Once I have the new designs from David I will get myself a (cheap) Zippo and see what it comes out like. I?ll post some pics and you can then decide if you want to subject your precious lighters to the LASER treatment!!!!

I'll be fascinated to see how you get on.

It's not the same thing, but I came across this site in America (BlackZippo.com), it prints 'your own' designs onto Zippo's.
It doesn't seem too expensive either.
I thought I might try to 'cut-out' a circular version of the design and see if they could reproduce it.
What do you think, would it work?

With all this skill and machinery you have, i bet you could make a cool hardwood Nub case. Something that looks like a Nub, the top pulls off and it holds just one Nub. That with the Nub band lasered on, and waxed up would look unreal.

I bet you could sell quite a few of those, personalised with the biker crests etc

I could have a go at that but I'm not very good working with wood, more of a metal machinist really. It sounds a really good idea though.
If I do decide to have a go at it you will get the prototype!

If I get a chance I'll do another one with the band around the foot as well and Leenub written on it somewhere.

I must say thanks to David for doing a richgirling version of his design for me. He emailed it to me and I got it in all its glory, it's much better than the resized one I got from the forum you can really see the depth on the skulls eyes and particularly the "Brothers Of The Leaf" and the "UK Cigar Forums" text, good job.

153 ring gauge (2 25/64") 9 1/2 inches long.
Made form a hi-tec material called Rohacell, when you see an F1 car have a crash this is the white stuff that you see on the track.
Lee you can paint it with whatever you like it's very stable they make F1 car fuel tanks out of it.
That's a Robustos it's standing next to.

I think the design as it stands might be a bit too large and complex to get onto a Zippo but David (good old boy) is going to separate out the different elements of the design for us and then you could choose what bits of it you want to go onto your lighter, skull, cash into ash (my fave) and so on.

Good to see that. Im probably breaking some age old cigar rule, but lately have been using just a plain old zippo to light a stick. i let it burn for a second then sit it on the table lit and slowly light my cigar. I dont notice any after taste, and feels more like a "ritual" for me. Bonus that my 12 y/o daughter loves for me to do zippo tricks for her. I'd like to think Im raising her right - she loves the smell of cigars.
