It is only available from mysmokingshop.co.uk
Be very cautious when taking it because it is very difficult to take without it hitting the back of the throat. I mix it about one part WE to two parts MacChrystals. It makes it much easier to take and you still get the hit.
Viking Dark is also exclusively available at the same supplier. The dark is the most powerful of all the Viking snuffs and is non flavoured. It has a smokey earthy smell to it.

This is a very interesting article on nicotine levels in the blood of snuffers and smokers. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/arti...00678-0014.pdf

My tin of 41 White Elephant emptied out into my jacket pocket the other day. Given its incredibly fine and dry grind shaking it out was pure folly.
Nevertheless, so powerful and interesting is this nicotine-extract-like snuff that I bought another tin... and some Viking Dark. Yes, a true pair of heavy weights there.
During the interim, I have been snuffing unadulterated MacChrystals, which I now find I need 6 pinches at any one time to feel the kick. 41WE turns you into a hardcore snuff head

Had severe nic kick from snuffing yesterday in the pub. Was snuffing McChrystals, Viking Dark and White Elephant 41. The last two are heavy weights and carry a lot of nicotine. Needless to say, an afternoon of snuff and booze made for a bout of violent cold sweats, dizziness and nausea. Not pleasant at all but surprising how powerful these snuffs can be.

Yeah, I certainly understand that logic. I do love with a pipe how you can also tailor the length of smoke to how much you feel like at the time.

Hi VTG, I've been bobbing in occasionally but don't smoke cigars so much these days, having taken to the less expensive, yet equally enjoyable briar.

Your back! How have you been?
The snuff sounds interesting and I have never heard of it before now.

    41 White Elephant Snuff
Renowned for its nicotine strength (and it is remarkably strong), 41 WE is a very pale brown snuff which is an incredibly fine grind - similar to talcum powder. The aroma in the tin is distinctly mild ammonia, which may disappear in time, and no added 'flavour'.
Taking this stuff is very difficult due to its fine grind, and it is impossible to prevent hitting the back of throat, even with the most gentle sniff. Once finally managing to snuff any, the nicotine kick is powerful though short lived, and burns slightly.
I find this snuff far too difficult to take, and combined with the ammonia smell and burn I opted to mix it 50/50 with a standard snuff. The grind is so fine it clings to the coarser snuff without separating to cause any snuffing problems. Being so high in nicotine the kick is still prominent and works as a great supplement for those more 'needful' days.

I have just taken J & H Wilson Medicated No.99 out of a 2 week daily use cycle. On Monday I exchanged it in my pocket for a tin of McCrystals Original and Genuine which I have been snuffing throughout the day, so I feel this is a good point to do a direct comparison.

Now I understand that this is not necessarily a good direct comparison and that No.99 would stack up closer to McCrystals JIP (which I am yet to obtain) or Original & Genuine would naturally be compared to J & H SP No.1...... But what the hey, I can do that one next!

First thing first, I love both of these snuffs! But for differing reasons.

The McCrystals will clear your head better than pretty much anything else I have experienced, Red Bull snuff will do a similar job but No.99 is simply a more refined product IMO.

The McCrystals is a very well rounded, more laid back snuff. I happily use the McCrystals in the evening while winding down with a glass of red and a book/music/film that requires a modicum of concentration, the J & H would simply take centre stage so would not be a good choice for me in that circumstance.

All in all I think the McCrystals is a better buy as it is more versatile and a better choice (for me) as a daily use snuff. But the No.99 is a medicated and in that use it excels and by far and away exceeds the abilities of the McCrystals (as it should, to be fair.)

Both will see continued use for me.
