  • Tommy, JW Red label is a mixing whisky if there ever was one. Great with soda or coke but not so much on its own IMO. It's a good deal when they drop it to ?14 now and then but at ?18 theres better.

It's a shame that JW Black is usually ?28 now because it used to be a good deal at ?20ish but is in single malt territory now.

Black is is much much better than the red so when it's on offer it's worth picking up.

At the low price point, Famous Grouse and Hankey Bannister are two I keep coming back to.... But don't expect single malt quality.

Rarely do I add anything however sometimes on cask strength 60% I may add either a drop of water or an ice cube

Well that's it, I need a nice bottle of straight from the cask and an ice cube for the dog hehe.
What's Black Grouse like? It's on a deal in CoOp.

There is no limit when it comes to setting prices for the rarest whiskies in the world, which included the Macallan 1926 that was auctioned for US,000 in 2007, which at the time was the most expensive whisky in the world. Then along came Dalmore w...
