I've never seen the sherry one! Definitely get that 12 tried though for me it's better than a lot of scotch and I like a lot of scotch haha

All this talk of Sherry Cask Whisky..... Gets me thinking.

Im going to revisit my successful wood chip ageing experiment, but with a young Malt Scotch and some charred wood chips soaked in this.

What base whisky will you use? I had a nip of that sherry monster of a whisky I found on eBay tonight. Literally one of the nicest things I've ever had.

This 25 year old Sherry Speyside I have is amazing. I want to find a whisky that will be similar, I'm looking for something that is unmistakably sherry tasting. This one is literally like spirit strength sherry, it's incredible.
So who can tell me what the most sherry tasting whiskies are.
I have a few bottles of different types of whisky now and I want something to satisfy my sherry whisky thirst in order to keep me away from this one.

Aberlour A'bunadh from memory, I only had a couple at a tasting event though so it's not something I am extremely experienced with.

It's on my list to buy and try again though.

BenRiach is one in really interested in, they do a PX barrel finish which Id think is lovely.

Nice. I think the key is to find something that has spent more than the last few months in sherry wood. They usually say an unspecified time. Maybe the 20yo GD would be a good one.

The 20 is apparently something special, I really want a bottle because they are so limited but i can't until New year.
