Would splitting the prize pot into 1st 2nd and 3rd place prizes plus a couple of my dog rockets as a booby prize for funniest/silliest/just plain terrible photo make this more interesting? Just a thought........

Then on the closing date each month that thread can be opened up for one vote per person. Any discussions about the comp to be taken to this thread. So to be clear the thread for the photos will have nothing but one single posts per entry of the photo and title for the photo. Once all are in and judging begins that same thread has an additional post per person with the name of the person they are voting for. Once judging has closed it will take no time at all to count the votes.
Chat about the photos and company can carry on here.

It's the king of abrasion resistance! It's also much less visible in the water and much much cheaper.

Theres also occasions where using Braid is out and out banned. Mono nylon is still very much a must have in every fishermans box.
Braid I feel is generally banned on carp lakes , I've been fishing for nearly 40 years and its a shame that generally now the avant garde now is carp fishing I used to go trout fishing when I was barely in my teens free running worms in a stream about 8 inches deep and a couple of foot wide in loose village loved it simple angling loads of fun and nice fish. It's a pity the next generation can't do it angling is just a money making machine private lakes etc.......

I very rarely use nylon any more Marc, only recent exception I can recall is using 30 lb 30' leaders on a Scottish Loch for the abrasion resistance you mentioned. The other use would be catching bait on my whip but I don't have any one via small reel like in the photo.I use 30lb braid when drifting & deadbaiting. 50lb for light ours & 80lb for heavy lures. Don't really do any other type of fishing these days about from pike fly fishing.
