Too bad there is so much gabbing and CometChatting going on around here. Makes it hard to see and compare photos. Perhaps that would be asking too much...like reaching for the stars!

Going to answer both of them together. Was speaking to a chum of mine about this earlier who doesn't really smoke cigars except for the occasional rum flavoured one. He said Ah so everyone will just vote for themselves. I said no, we are gentleman and it would be most un-gentlemanly conduct to vote for yourself so therefore doesn't even need mentioning in the rules as the situation would never occur. 1st place vote gets you 3 points, 2nd 2 points and 3rd 1 point. I think this will make for more interesting tallys at the end.

This is not just my first attempt at this specific competition, its all of ours. We will try it this way then next month keep what worked and ditch what didn't and continue to self in improve in that manner.

I get the tallying up thing, but say Mr A gets the most votes for being the most liked but then loses overall to Mr B as his tally is greater, it kind of defeats the object of Mr A being viewed as the 'best', most if you get me? Mr B, or even Mr C could win by accruing more points, but without hitting the top spot as often. Just a thought. I'll stand by whatever gets decided, but is that how it'll run Wiggy?

For now yes that's the plan. Like I said if it works well then continue you to use it next month. If it throws up any isssues such as what you have pointed out then change it next month. One way around this and something I was considering anyway is making it more of a point spread. 6 points for 1. 3 points for 2 and 1point 3.
Or something like that. I think it will give a more accurate representation of which is the best photo rather than just how we feel about one photo on the day we decide to vote. Rather than wapping in a single vote its like we are all on the panel of judges and it gives it more...refinement and class.... and is that not more fitting to a group of gentlemen discussing cigars?
