I-d go for the theme idea as well, it would make judging easier for a start. I' d suggest starting with 'Christmas Smoke.' Can be Christmas past or taken this year.

I think having this as the main thread but opening a new one monthly for the photos only to be added to is a great idea Osky. Keeping things tidy. Then on the closing date each month that thread can be opened up for one vote per person. Any discussions about the comp to be taken to this thread. So to be clear the thread for the photos will have nothing but one single posts per entry of the photo and title for the photo. Once all are in and judging begins that same thread has an additional post per person with the name of the person they are voting for. Once judging has closed it will take no time at all to count the votes.
Chat about the photos and company can carry on here.

I think we need a thread Dec photo competition. To put just the pic and your name nothing else or it will be a nightmare going back through this thread with some pictures and loads of chatting

Good suggestion Osky, perhaps a mod could preserve the purity of the thread and delete any divergent posts

I think it needs to be one photo a month, running it monthly runs the risk of getting similar photos anyway so we may want to avoid using up all the photos straight away!

It might also be worth trying to think of a theme every month to try to keep it interesting
