All Things Must Pass!
Breaking News! Breaking News! Breaking News! Breaking News! Breaking News!
Ahem...I've been monitoring yankee cable news this morning and just learned that the new rules pertaining to the partial lifting of the embargo starts tomorrow! Previosly the yankee presidente anounced that certain restrictions would be relaxed, allowing "licensed" yankee visitors to bring back up to $100 of Cuban cigars, but the only thing being discussed on the so-called "Cable News" is the $100 limitation, not the need to be a licensed visitor to the island. I think this is just oversight by the cable news, however.
One senior yankee official DID say she thought Cuba would be opened up to the general yankee public around the middle of this year (or did she say next year?
)
I'll keep my ear to the ground and report back if/when I learn more about this troubling event!

Personaly i'd like cuba to remain as it is, bit like midsummer murders series old cottages look nice compared to seeing modern houses.

id like to see the yank tanks stay in Cuba
the yanks with their big bucks will be tranna buy them up for sure and the Cuban people would find it hard to resist the big money
it would be nice to think the goverment would help in some way , re financial incentives to keep them
cigars , cars , colonial buildings = tourism , which is the future for the Cubans

Possibly deserving the caption, Do you think I would suit a moustache?

I dunno. Almost by accident Cuba and Havana in particular have gained an almost theme park character .... tourism will be a huge part of Cuba's future .... I think their marketeers will realise you don't sacrifice your assets for concrete modernity.Originally posted by TonyN View PostEven though i haven't been to cuba it looks like time has stood still nothing has changed much, going by photo's and video's
can you imagine what cuba would look like if the americans have their way if and when the embargo is lifted,
and you start seeing macdonalds and costa's everywhere, cuba woulden't look the same anymore.
There will be new attractions in Cuba I've no doubt, and in time a Havana Hotel in Las Vegas!
