I'm sure the lure of money and pensions keeps many people in the job when they really shouldn't be

Any officer that is heading down the road of becoming jaded to the point they can't put best face forward should do what I did and leave.Originally posted by Tucky View PostI guess the sad truth is pratts excist in every job and walk of life. I heard someone say the other day 'the trouble is no one calls the police for anything good, if I spent my working life dealing with the worst side of society maybe I'd become a different person'. Made me think.
Theres never an excuse for an officer taking the moral low ground IMO.

Sadly the job also attracts its fair share of people who want to abuse their authority to bully other people. Voice of experience that will be verified by other members.

Yeah everyone has a bad day but that was incredibly unprofessional.
My contacts with the police have been unfailingly polite and professional, even when I crashed into some poor bugger's garden.

Mo, the officer was obviously a cock.
Your Chief Super is Richard Bayly who is a really nice guy, please contact his office and inform him of this.

Well i was pulled over today while driving the GF car. Why, because i drove on to a petrol station to put air in the tyres, saw a huge sign on the machine that said out of order, so drove off.
There happened to be a police car on the petrol station, they saw that I drove on, past the air machine then off again, they however missed the huge sign and the two smack heads doing a deal.
i see them set off behind me, next thing the blue lights are on so I pulls over.
i am asked politely to go to the police car, i polite do so.
get asked the usual questions, whos car is it, do you have insurance blah blah.
then why did you drive into the petrol station then drive off again?
i answers the back tyre is low as you can see, so I went to get air but the machine had a HUGE sign saying out of order.
police officer oh ok. ( great detective work here)
All the checks come back fine, the officer says thats fine you can go.
at this point I enquire as to why they pulled me over, and did they not notice the two smack heads or the sign.
this really pissed the officer off, he starts shouting at me, apparently I was pulled over as the car is registered to a girl and I didnt look like a girl. I ask him to stop shouting at me politely, he continues to shout. Then tells me to get out of his car and stop acting like a child.
as I approach the GF car he gets out of his car and continues shouting at that I need to put air in my tyre or his going to take the car, I tell him to take the car, he shouts that he will show me the legislation he has the power to take the car, again I tell him to take it then, he shouts again oh stopping being so childish gets in his car and drives off.
Now I know we have some officers on here, I mean them no offence when I say this, but from my experiences with the police as a victim of crime they were no help what so ever, and the way this officer spoke to me when I had committed no offence was totally outrageous. I can see why the law abiding public has no respect for them and the criminals no fear of them.
my rant over, I need a cigar to calm down.

No but did you see that story about the would be drugs dealer in Nicaragua who thought he'd bought bales of compressed cannabis only to get it home to find it was compost. I moved to training as I had had enough of the public. I was fed up with people's problems and listening to whingers. Now I'm happy at work.
