Final update.
I am now living on my own as my wife has eventually moved out to a new house.
I have my girls half the time here with me which is great.
I now have a whole house to redecorate and furnish but at least it's now my choice of decoration and furniture rather than having no say at all apart from doing it.
Going to be an expensive few months whilst I try and replace all the missing essential items but I'm still going to budget some cigar purchases after Xmas.
Feeling much happier now as I can ignore the ranting texts and demands. Final milestone will be divorce then I can truly start my new adventure.

I take Omeprazole from time to time as I can have terrible reflux and it works a treat!

Thanks all. Not convinced on the vitamin deficiency piece as I took supliments whilst dieting and back to a normal diet now.
Maybe some sort of virus or stress related.
But big relief it's not immediately bad news.

Good news so far, (I remember suggesting Reflux & PPI's eg Omeprazole), hopefully there'll be nothing worse on the 'scope.

Small (felt big) camera up through my nose and down my throat today.
Have to go back for a proper endoscopy with samples taken if necessary.
Starting treatment for silent reflux as a matter of course. Slight soreness of vocal cords and throat which explains the lump in throat and losing voice.
Sore mouth, tongue and loss of taste (yeah don't mention me not liking some CCs ) could be a vitamin deficiency from my reduced food intake to lose the weight. Will have to see if that was unrelated to the throat.
So at least it's not a definite bad news, but I need to wait till the endoscopy to find out if it's anything more that reflux.
So not dead yet.
