Definitely agree with pootana that whisky/ey is subjective. I personally find the Aberlour 10 drinkable but very bitter (people always seem to buy it for me as well!). My taste leans towards almost anything Glenmorangie (didn't like the Lasanta or Nectar D'Or too much) and the Aberlour Abunad'h and Tamdhu Batch Strength take some beating; you can always add water to these if the mood so takes you. I find the 'Cigar Malts' a bit gimmicky on the whole. Must admit that I'm enjoying rum more than whisky these days (which is a surprise to me!)
Another whisky I think that will go nicely with a cigar is bain cape mountain....I've not paired it yet...but can see a cigar will complement the whisky....it's a very smooth whisky, notes of vanilla and cinnamon
One thats a nice match with cigars I found was the balvenie Carribbean cask. Along with the dalmore15. For whisky drinking I normally just use a normal glencairn glass these days www.themysterywhisky.co.uk
Sorry, SHAMZ84, I've only just seen your reply and suggestions - thanks.
